(U) Advanced formal training in remote sensing and/or earth science/physical science, or engineering/mathematical disciplines
(U) Detailed experience using AGI processing and exploitation software.
(U) Proficiency in the sensor disciplines (radar, infrared, spectral, or geospatial
(U) Detailed knowledge of basic SAR AGI collections systems (both space-borne and airborne), operations, phenomenology, and their impact on SAR AGI processing, analysis, and exploitation.
(U) Detailed knowledge in the science of infrared image formation, collection parameters, processing, and radiometric analysis
(U) Proficiency with using COTS image software (e.g. ENVI, ERDAS Imagine), COTS desktop software (e.g. MS Office), and the Windows and UNIX operating environments. Of particular importance are software packages used for the processing and analysis of imaging radar data.
(U) Knowledge of imaging radar system technology and collection parameters.
(U) Demonstrated strong writing and briefing skills consistent with national-level performance; this includes the skills needed to prepare NGA Imagery Intelligence Brief reports
Typical experience in excess of 20 years is required for this level of support. A bachelor degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to four years of this experience. A master degree in a field related to the support services may count for an additional two years of this experience. A doctorate degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to three years of this experience.
An expert should be expected to oversee others in their work. An expert must meet all of the services required and provide direction to others in performing these duties. Experts will be expected to provide senior level advice to senior leadership in NGA and the IC at the office and directorate level. These persons may also be called upon periodically to advise organizations outside of the area they are normally providing support. Collaboration should be a normal part of their duties.
