Responsibilities

Develops content, and maintains associated systems for agency internal and/or external web sites, including sites hosted on classified networks.  Plans, designs, and performs content enhancements and/or updates to websites.  Recommends best practices, develops guidance and content standards, and ensures best practices and quality standards are met and maintained.  Designs and builds web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.  Uses a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.  Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements.  Contributes to the design group's efforts to enhance the appeal of the organization's online offerings.  Designs the website to support the organi7.ation's strategies and goals relative to external communications.  Requires knowledge of web-based technologies including browsers, ASP pages, HTML code, object-oriented technology, and graphics software. Ensures website content is current, accurate, and reliable.  Ensures websites are available to desired audience with appropriate links and security designed into system and maintained.  Provides advice on strategies to maximize available content on distributed servers.  Installs, configures, operates, and advises on the acquisition of multimedia equipment, and supporting media products.  Provides technical support for meetings, conferences, teleconferences, video-teleconferences, and multimedia projects supporting public relations objectives and strategic objectives of the government office.  Provides remote-access training via video teleconferencing, and video production.  Plans, executes, directs, and edits multi-media project productions in support of government customer task requirements and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

Position Requirement 1:          Possess strong computer skills and demonstrated proficiency on PC

                                            platforms. Have working knowledge of Worldwide Web and multimedia

                                            technologies.

 

Position Requirement 2:          Possess strong communication skills and be able to communicate visually,

                                            verbally, and in writing. Have strong interpersonal skills.

 

Position Requirement 3:          Have extensive graphic design knowledge (theories, design principles,

                                            typography, text layout, elements of design, and color theory) to create

                                            custom products as needed.

 

Position Requirement 4:          Possess the ability to visualize complex data from multiple sources

                                             (including charts, cartographic maps, text, and imagery).

 

Position Requirement 5:          Have advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Position Requirement 6:          Have a basic understanding of industry-standard technology, such as

                                            electronic publishing, computer systems, applications, and databases such

                                            as structured authoring software – SGML, XML, HTML, HTML-5, CSS,

                                            JavaScript, J Query, and ActionScript/AS3; basic print-based and web-

                                            based design principles, RSS, web services, Geo Database; Microsoft

                                            SharePoint10 or higher.

 

Position Requirement 7:          Have extensive knowledge of graphic design software: Adobe Creative

                                            Suite (CS) 5 or higher (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).

 

Position Requirement 8:          Have demonstrated aptitude in working with current, industry-standard

                                            electronic publishing computer systems, applications, and databases.

Position Requirement 9:          Have familiarity with the US Intelligence Community. 

 

Position Requirement 10:        Desired skills: 1) Cartographic experience desired. 2) ArcGIS and ArcGIS

                                             Online experience desired. 

 

Position Requirement 11:        Have at least two years of graphic design experience along with an

                                             undergraduate or graduate degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Arts, Computer

                                             Graphics, or any Liberal Arts or technical degree where graphic arts or

                                             digital image processing is core to the degree OR at least four years of

                                             graphic design experience without the above-specified degree.

 

Position Requirement 12:        Years of experience 7-10 years

 

Position Requirement 13:        TS/SCI Security Clearance
